A toll invoice is a payment request for using a toll road such as CityLink. The invoice is sent to the registered owner of the vehicle. Payment should be made by the required date to avoid further costs.

You can make a quick credit card payment for travel on CityLink. Simply refer to the top of your toll invoice for the toll invoice number.

Have an account but not with CityLink?

If you usually pay for your tolls with another operator, you can easily transfer an invoice amount to your account. You can also transfer multiple invoices. Just make sure they are all being transferred to one account. You will need your toll invoice number and your account or tag serial number from your toll operator.

    Toll invoices are issued to the registered vehicle owner when a vehicle travels on a toll road without a valid account or pass. If you weren't driving the vehicle at the time of travel, you can nominate another driver.

    A toll invoice is a payment request for travelling on a toll road such as CityLink. They're issued when a trip is made in a vehicle that is not linked to a valid account or pass. The amount payable is the cost of the trip plus admin fees.

    If you already have a CityLink account, you may receive a toll invoice if:

    • you are driving a car that has not been added to your account
    • your account has been suspended

    I received a toll invoice for a vehicle that no longer belongs to me

    If this happens, you can nominate the new owner to pay the toll invoice.

    If the new owner is responsible for all the trips listed on the invoice, you can complete the nomination online.

    Nominate a toll invoice to another driver. 

    If there are multiple trips listed and the new owner is not responsible for all of them, you'll need to contact our customer care team to complete the nomination. We're here 6am–8pm, 7 days a week.

    Please note that if the invoice has already been nominated twice, you won't be able to perform another one.

    How do I transfer a toll invoice to my account?

    You can use your account balance to pay a toll invoice as long as there are sufficient funds available. All you need to do is transfer the invoice to your account using our website.

    If your account balance is lower than the value of your invoice, you'll need to top up your account before you complete the transfer.

    To transfer an invoice, log into your account and select Pay a toll invoice from the menu to the right. Follow the prompts to transfer to your account.

    You'll be provided with a receipt, which you can choose to print or have emailed to you.

    Alternatively you can pay the toll invoice directly online.
